DESCRIPTION:Cave Creek Museum Presents Bob Boze Bell\, local expert on the subject “The 66 Kid on Growing Up on the Mother Road.” The presentation will take place on Saturday\, March 21 from 2-4 PM at Cave Creek Museum. \nLocal history buff Bob Boze Bell grew up on Route 66 where his father owned a gas station\, Al Bell’s Flying A on Hilltop\, outside Kingman\, Boze Bell has written two books about his experiences icing jugs and pumping gas. He also is the executive editor and co-owner of True West magazine\, which he bought with two crazy friends in 1999 and moved the headquarters where it has been in Cave Creek ever since. In addition to the magazine\, Bell has published more than 12 other books on legendary Old West characters like Billy the Kid\, Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. In addition\, he co-wrote and published “Hellraisers & Trailblazers: The Real Women of The Wild West” with the late\, great Jana Bommersbach. Bell also will sell his new artwork\, which features local landscapes like Elephant Butte and The Seven Sisters. \nThe presentation is free to museum members and $10 for non-members. Over 20 paintings by three Kid Krazy amigos\, Buckeye Blake\, Thom Ross and Bob Boze Bell\, including the groundbreaking sculpture\, “The Wake of Billy the Kid” which will end up on Billy Bonney’s grave in Fort Sumner\, New Mexico in the spring of 2026.\n\nThe premier of the art show is from 5 to 7 at the Scottsdale Museum of the West on October 3rd. DESCRIPTION:Bob Boze Bell to speak Saturday morning 9a-12p.\nLight Breakfast included $20\n\nPrescott Western Heritage Foundation presents “Prescott’s Doc HolliDaze Weekend” on August 15th\, 16th and 17th\, 2025\, with most events taking place at the Hassayampa Inn in Prescott\, Arizona. Tickets for all weekend events are $95\, available by calling the Western Heritage Center at 928-910-2307\, or visiting the Center at 156-C S. Montezuma\, Prescott\, AZ 86303. \nThe weekend is a celebration of John Henry “Doc” Holliday’s time in Prescott prior to his fateful move to Tombstone. It will begin with a Welcome Reception at the Western Heritage Center on Friday evening\, August 15th\, followed by a Speakeasy Crawl. \nA History Forum is planned for Saturday morning\, featuring expert Doc Holliday historians\, authors and artists. The Wild West History Association will also have representatives in attendance. \nScheduled speakers include Bob Boze Bell\, executive editor of True West magazine. Also known as BBB\, Bob Boze Bell is a historian\, author and painter who is known as America’s Western Storyteller.  Michael Paul Mihaljevich is an author\, historical researcher and art photographer. He recently published the book The Bird Cage Theater: The Curtain Rises on Tombstone. Victoria Wilcox is Founding Director of Georgia’s Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House Museum\, the antebellum home of the family of Doc Holliday. Her work with the museum led to two decades of original research\, making her a nationally recognized authority on the life of Doc Holliday. \nThe History Forum will take place from 9:00 to 12:00 on Saturday\, August 16th\, in the Arizona Room at the Hassayampa Inn\, and a light breakfast is included. The History Forum is included with the weekend pass\, but if guests want to only attend the Forum\, that price is $20. \nLater that afternoon will be a presentation at Sharlot Hall Museum\, and museum admission is included. \nA highlight of the weekend will be the Grand Victorian Party held at the Hassayampa Inn on Saturday evening\, with Old West entertainers and country music by Lonesome and Busted. 1880’s attire is encouraged\, but not required. Wear your finest period or Western outfit to participate! Enjoy refreshments and a no-host bar\, a fashion show\, and a photo booth with a Western backdrop. Do you think you look like John Henry Holliday? A Doc Holliday lookalike contest will be judged by “Doc” impersonator Cory Allen from Tombstone. Meet dozens of re-enactors from groups such as the Prescott Regulators and Their Shady Ladies\, the Whiskey Row Renegades\, the Whiskey Row Social Club and Historical Society and many others. \nA commemorative booklet\, “Doc Holliday in Prescott”\, written by Bradley Courtney\, will be available at the event\, as will books and artwork by the History Forum presenters. Stuart Rosebrook\, executive director of Sharlot Hall Museum\, will emcee. \nThe weekend will conclude with a no-host brunch on Sunday morning at the Hassayampa Inn\, with attendees ordering from their menu. \nOur host hotel is the Hassayampa Inn\, 800-322-1927. Mention Prescott’s Doc Hollidaze weekend for special pricing on room rates. The Hotel St. Michael is also a historic lodging option within walking distance of all events. \nThe raffle prize is “Doc at OK Corral”\, a framed print signed by the artist Buck Taylor. One raffle ticket is included with the weekend pass\, and additional raffle tickets are available for $5 each. The raffle drawing will take place Saturday evening during the Grand Victorian Party. \nAll proceeds benefit the Prescott Western Heritage Foundation. “The intention is for Prescott’s Doc HolliDaze to become an annual event celebrating local and Old West History\,” said Dennis Gallagher\, founder of the Prescott Western Heritage Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:Authors whose inspiration is the beauty and history of the Superstition Mountains and the history and culture\, wildlife and vegetation of the area surrounding them are a special group of people. This year\, a select few will be gathering at the Museum on Saturday\, March 29\, to meet attendees and sign and sell their books\, all day from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free. \nWe are fortunate to have Bob Boze Bell and Marshall Trimble attending this year. They will be presenting their second volume of Arizona stories about growing up on Route 66. “The 66 Kids” is a rowdy romp back to the old days of Route 66 and some of the tales are actually true. Bob Boze Bell and Marshall Trimble will also reward attendees with a talk (details to come).
